# My daughter's quinceañera is next month, and I have to give the toast.

Bring her name, two or three moments from her childhood and what you hope for her next years. HidenGPT's Speech format, set to Birthday / celebration and Heartfelt, turns 3 minutes into about 390 words for the toast, in English or in Spanish. It uses your memories as given and leaves a gap where one is missing.

## How to do it in HidenGPT

- 01 Ask the family or the planner when the brindis happens, who else speaks and for how long, and whether the toast should be in English, Spanish or both.
- 02 With Speech picked under “Use it for”, set Occasion to Birthday / celebration, Minutes to 3, Tone to Heartfelt and Your role to “her father” or “her madrina”.
- 03 In the main box, write her name, two or three moments from her childhood, the people you want to thank and a hope for her, then send; set the draft language to Spanish if that is the room's language.
- 04 Read the draft for anything that did not happen, fill each [add a short memory] gap with something true, and say the names of the padrinos and grandparents out loud to check them.
- 05 Practice with a timer, then once in front of someone who will be there, without her in the room.

## When the toast happens, and who gives it

Families do it differently, but the toast, the brindis, usually comes at the reception after the Mass or blessing, often around dinner and close to the father-daughter waltz and the changing of the shoes. Traditionally the parents lead it, with the padrino and madrina taking part, and the quinceañera herself often thanks everyone in turn. Guests then raise their glasses to her.

If you are the parent, your toast is the main one. You are speaking to the whole family, to her friends and to her court, so keep it about her, not about you. If you are a padrino or madrina, keep it shorter, about a minute, and speak to your relationship with her: what you promised her parents, what you have seen her grow into.

One thing to remember: the girl you are toasting is fifteen. Her friends are in the room. Leave out anything that would embarrass her at school on Monday, and nothing about boyfriends, dating or how she is “a woman now” in a way that makes a teenager want to disappear under the table.

## What to say in three minutes

At about 130 words a minute in English, three minutes is roughly 390 words. In Spanish, HidenGPT plans for a slightly slower 120 words a minute, so the same three minutes come out around 360 words.

A split for a parent:

Welcome and thanks, especially to padrinos and anyone who traveled: 70 words.
A memory from when she was small: 100.
Who she is now, with one concrete example: 110.
A hope or a blessing for her next years: 70.
The toast: 40.

If your family speaks both languages, a common approach is to give the speech in one and say the blessing or the toast line in the other. Write that line yourself in your notes, the way your family says it, so the draft keeps it word for word. Religious words are your choice: put the ones you want in your notes, and delete any line you did not ask for.

## Examples: a father's toast and a madrina's toast

Example 1, from her father (about 200 words, from the notes in the box above):

“Good evening, everyone. I'm Miguel, Sofía's dad. Thank you for being here tonight. Rosa and Javier, thank you for standing with Sofía as her padrinos. Mamá, you flew in from Guadalajara, and Sofía has been counting the days.

When Sofía was four, her abuela let her carry her rosary to church. She held it with both hands the whole Mass, and she never let go. Not once. Her abuela still talks about it.

That is still Sofía. When she picks something up, she does not put it down. At ten, she taught herself to braid from videos, and every school morning since, she has done her little sister's hair before her own. Nobody asked her to. She just did it.

This year she started volunteering at the animal shelter on Saturdays. She comes home covered in fur and tells us every dog's name.

Sofía, tonight everyone here is celebrating you. Your mom and I want you to know that we are proud of you for exactly who you already are. Keep holding on to the things you love. Keep doing your sister's hair, even when she says she can do it herself.

Please raise your glasses. Por Sofía, que Dios la bendiga. To Sofía.”

Example 2, from a madrina (about 60 words):

“Sofía, when your parents asked me to be your madrina, I promised to be there for you. I have kept that promise at every school play and every birthday, and tonight I get to watch you shine in front of everyone who loves you. Stay curious, stay kind, and always call your madrina. Te quiero mucho. To Sofía.”

## What the Speech format does with your notes

The Birthday / celebration setting writes personal memories and a warm wish, with humor everyone in the room will understand. Set Minutes from 1 to 15; at 3 in English it aims for about 390 words and warns you when the draft lands more than 30% off. Tone on Heartfelt keeps the jokes light or out.

It writes in the draft language you pick, including Spanish. If your notes ask for one line to stay in the other language, check that the draft kept it word for word, and paste it back in if not. It is told not to invent anecdotes, names or events, so the padrinos and relatives it thanks are the ones you list, and missing memories become [add a short memory]. Switch on Stage cues under More details for [pause] and [raise your glass]. A light red pen pass removes stock phrases. On Pro or Pro Max, a voice saved from two to five things you have written (300 characters or more) moves the wording toward how you talk.

## Not the right tool if

- A speech for the quinceañera herself to give. HidenGPT is for adults; this page is for the parents, godparents and relatives who speak.
- Religious texts for the Mass or blessing. Ask your parish or the person leading the ceremony for those.
- Memories you don't have. It leaves a placeholder instead of inventing a story; ask her grandparents or her padrinos for one.

## Other ways to do it

Writing it yourself from the split above

Costs nothing and keeps every word yours. Five parts and a word count each is all you need.

A joint toast with her other parent

One gives the thanks, the other the memories and the blessing. Common and easy on nerves.

Her grandparents or padrinos

They remember stories from when she was small that you may have forgotten, and the family's own sayings for a blessing.

ChatGPT or another chatbot

Quick, but watch for generic lines about “becoming a young woman” and details that never happened.

## Questions

### Who gives the speech at a quinceañera?

Usually her parents, often with her padrino and madrina, during the brindis at the reception. The quinceañera may also thank her guests, and other relatives sometimes add a toast.

### How long should a quinceañera speech be?

Two to three minutes for a parent, about one minute for a padrino or madrina. In English, three minutes is roughly 390 words at 130 words a minute.

### What does a dad say at his daughter's quinceañera?

Thanks to the padrinos and guests, one memory from when she was small, who she is now with a real example, a hope or blessing for her, and a toast. Keep it about her, and nothing that would embarrass her in front of her friends.

### Can I write the speech in Spanish?

Yes. Pick Spanish as the draft language and write your notes in either language. For a bilingual toast, type the line you want in the other language in your notes, then check the draft kept it exactly as you wrote it.

### What do godparents say at a quinceañera?

A short toast about their promise to her and what they have seen her become. About a minute; set Minutes to 1 and put “her madrina” or “her padrino” in Your role.

### Is it okay to use AI to write a quinceañera speech?

Yes, as long as the memories and the love are yours. It drafts from what you write; you fix what is wrong, put it in your own words and give the toast yourself.

### Can I try it before paying?

Yes. The homepage lets anyone write 2 drafts a day without an account. The studio, with saved drafts and your own voice, needs a plan; Pro is $3 for the first month.
