How credits, the trial and plans work
Updated
Without an account you get 2 trial drafts a day, and they aren't saved. Writing in the studio needs Pro ($19 a month, 100 credits) or Pro Max ($29 a month, 300 credits). A credit is about $0.01 of AI model cost: a LinkedIn post uses about 2, an 800-word essay 4 to 6.
Steps
- 01Create an account, then open “Billing” in the studio sidebar.
- 02Choose “Monthly” or “Yearly” and tick the box agreeing to the Terms of Service and the Refund & Cancellation Policy.
- 03Click “Start for $3” on Pro or “Start for $9” on Pro Max (first subscription only), or “Get Pro yearly”, and pay by card on Stripe.
- 04When credits run low, pick a pack under “Top up” and click “Buy credits”.
- 05To cancel, change plan or update your card, click “Manage subscription”.
The trial
Visitors can send 2 drafts a day from the homepage without an account, and no credits are involved. The trial is for people 18 and over. Trial drafts aren't saved to a history and can't use a voice. A draft that fails doesn't count against the 2; one you stop does.
What a credit pays for
Each draft is metered from what its model calls actually cost (outline, draft, red pen and any fixes), at 1 credit per $0.01. Pro's 100 credits cover about 50 posts or 20 essays, and Pro Max's 300 about 150 posts or 60 essays. Creating a voice costs credits too. Stop a draft halfway and you pay for the calls already made. The month's credits are used first, then top-ups.
Prices and billing
Pro is $19 a month with 5 voices, and Pro Max $29 a month with 20 voices. New subscribers pay $3 or $9 for the first month; after that the plan renews at full price until you cancel. Yearly billing is 70% off: $68.40 or $104.40 a year, with credits still arriving monthly. Prices are in USD, and taxes may apply.
Resets, top-ups and cancelling
Monthly credits reset each month and don't carry over. Top-ups (100 credits for $19, 50 for $9.90) don't expire, but you can buy and use them only with an active plan. Cancel any time under “Manage subscription”: you keep your plan and credits until the paid period ends and aren't charged again. Partial periods and used credits aren't refunded; duplicate or mistaken charges are, as the Refund & Cancellation Policy explains.
What it doesn't do
- There's no unpaid plan: outside the 2 daily trial drafts, writing needs Pro or Pro Max.
- Trial drafts can't be recovered later, so copy one you want to keep.
Questions
Do unused credits roll over?
Monthly credits don't; they reset each month, on yearly plans too. Top-up credits don't expire.
What happens when I run out of credits?
Writing stops until you top up or the next month's credits arrive.
Can I get a refund?
For duplicate or mistaken charges, yes. EU and UK consumers can also withdraw within 14 days, minus credits already used if the plan started right away.
