I want an AI essay writer that actually sounds like me.
Paste two or three pieces you wrote and give each essay your own points. HidenGPT turns your samples into a voice profile (tone, sentence length, the words you use and avoid) and drafts in it. You get a draft that starts closer to how you write, and your samples stay in your account; they aren't used to train models.

How to do it in HidenGPT
- 01
Open Voices and paste two or three things you wrote yourself, such as past essays, a personal statement or long emails; the minimum is 300 characters.
- 02
In the composer, pick Essay, the assignment type, your level and the word count, then choose your voice.
- 03
Write your position, examples and points into the request or the thesis field, in your own rough words.
- 04
Read the draft next to your samples, mark lines that don't sound like you, and ask for changes or edit them yourself.
Essay & Assignment: A clear thesis, well-built paragraphs and citations only from sources you give.
What “sounds like you” means in practice
Style is a set of habits you probably don't notice. Do you write “use” or “utilize”, “but” or “however”? Are your sentences short, long or a mix? Do you open with a scene, a question or a claim? Do you concede a point before you argue, or lead with an example? Do you use semicolons, parentheses, contractions? Which words would you never write?
A voice profile captures those habits from your samples: your tone, sentence length, the words you lean on and the ones you avoid, plus a few short excerpts. Every draft written with that voice follows it, so the draft starts closer to how you write.
What to paste as samples
The minimum is 300 characters, but two to five pieces work best. A sensible start is two or three pieces of about 300 words or more each, written by you without AI help.
Pick writing close to the job: past essays for an essay voice, a personal statement for reflective pieces. Leave out group work, text a parent or tutor heavily edited and anything rewritten by a grammar tool, since those carry someone else's habits.
If you write very differently for different classes, make separate voices, say one academic and one personal. Pro saves 5 voices and Pro Max saves 20. Your samples stay in your account and aren't used to train models.
Voice is half of it; your points are the other half
A voice handles how the essay sounds. What it says still has to come from you: your position, two or three examples from your readings, class or life, a phrase your teacher used in a lecture, the point you actually disagree with.
Without those, any writer, human or AI, falls back on general examples, and general examples are what make an essay sound like nobody wrote it. With them, the draft has something specific to build around.
Then do a last pass yourself. Read it aloud and change every sentence you wouldn't say.
Not the right tool if
- Handing in a draft where your class bans AI. There, use it for an outline or feedback on your own work, and disclose AI help wherever your school asks.
- Copying someone else's style. Build voices from writing that's yours.
- Trying voices for free. The homepage trial writes without a saved voice; voices come with Pro and Pro Max.
Other ways to do it
- ChatGPT or another chatbot with a pasted sample
- Can imitate a sample you paste; expect to check the style and rewrite parts yourself.
- Writing it yourself, then fixing grammar
- Fully your voice. HidenGPT's Fix spelling & grammar mode, or any spell checker, corrects mistakes without touching your style.
- Your school's writing center
- A person who reads your draft and knows what your assignment asks for.
Questions
Is there an AI essay writer that sounds like you?
Yes, if it learns from your own writing. HidenGPT builds a voice from samples you paste and drafts in it; how close it gets depends on your samples and the points you give it.
How many writing samples do I need?
Two or three pieces is a good start. The minimum is 300 characters, but two to five pieces of real writing, around 300 words or more each, give the profile more to learn from.
What should I paste as a writing sample?
Writing you did yourself, close to the job: past essays for essays. Skip group work and text heavily rewritten by grammar tools, since those carry someone else's habits.
Can it write my essay so it sounds human without a voice?
It writes plainly without one: the red pen cuts stock phrases, and the Plain & clear or Personal tone reads less stiff than Academic. A voice is what makes it sound like you in particular, rather than like a careful stranger.
How many voices can I save?
Pro saves 5 voices and Pro Max 20. A sensible setup is one academic voice and one personal voice.
Are my writing samples used to train AI?
No. HidenGPT doesn't train models on your content or sell your data, and your voices stay in your account until you delete them.
Does it make up sources?
No. It cites only sources you give it, and a claim that needs one you didn't give gets a [source] placeholder.
