English is my second language. I want my essay polished but still sounding like me, not like a robot.

Paste your essay and choose Fix spelling & grammar. HidenGPT corrects spelling, punctuation and grammar only, and leaves your word choice, sentence structure and examples alone, with no red pen pass. You get your own essay with the mistakes fixed, not rewritten in words you'd never use.

How to do it in HidenGPT

  1. 01

Paste your essay, or one section at a time, into Rewrite (up to 20,000 characters).

  2. 02

Choose Fix spelling & grammar to correct mistakes and keep your style; the red pen stays off for this action.

  3. 03

If some sentences are correct but stiff, run just those through Humanize, which rewrites them more freely, and compare with your original.

  4. 04

Compare the result with your original and undo any change you don't understand or wouldn't say.

  5. 05

If you wrote a draft in your first language, Translate turns it into English that reads as if it was written in English; then edit it toward your voice.

Rewrite & Edit: Humanize, shorten, simplify or proofread your own draft.

Fix, smooth or translate: which to pick

Fix spelling & grammar corrects spelling, punctuation and grammar and nothing else. Your word choice, sentence structure and style stay as they are, and the red pen is switched off. Start here.

Humanize rewrites more freely: it reworks sentences with stock phrases, flat rhythm or repeated openers instead of only deleting the flagged words. That is often more change than you want if the goal is to sound like yourself, so use it on paragraphs that are correct but stiff, one at a time, and keep what still sounds like you.

Translate turns a draft into the language you pick in the Language setting, aiming for text that reads as if it was written in that language rather than word for word. It helps if you think more clearly in your first language, but read the result carefully and check it still says what you meant.

How to keep your voice when you polish

Keep your examples and stories. They're the part of the essay no one else could write.

Keep your words when they're correct. If you wrote “use”, you don't need “utilize”; a simple word that's right is better than a fancier one you'd never say. Keep your sentence length roughly as it is, too: a few short, plain sentences are fine.

Remember that your teacher knows your level. An essay that suddenly sounds far more advanced than your other work reads less like you, not more.

Learn from the corrections. Compare the two versions and note the mistakes you repeat, so the next essay needs fewer fixes.

Common fixes for English learners

Most corrections fall into a few groups. Verb forms: “we are not celebrate” should be “we don't celebrate”, and past events need the past tense, so “last year my friends make a party” becomes “last year my friends had a party”. Word forms: “I was very surprise” should be “I was very surprised”. Articles: “a” and “the” are missing or extra in many first drafts. Prepositions: in, on and at for time and place. Uncountable nouns: “advice” and “information” have no plural.

Long sentences joined only with commas, called comma splices, are another common one; a full stop or a joining word such as “because” or “but” fixes them.

Not the right tool if

  • Classes that don't allow AI editing tools. Some allow spell checkers but not rewriting, so check the rules and disclose AI help where your school asks.
  • Making the essay longer or adding arguments. Rewrite adds no new facts; write the new parts yourself or use the Essay format.
  • Learning grammar rules in depth. It returns corrected text without explanations, so compare versions to learn from them.

Questions

Can AI fix my grammar without changing my writing style?

Yes. Fix spelling & grammar corrects spelling, punctuation and grammar only and leaves your style, word choice and sentence structure alone; the red pen stays off for it.

How do I make my English essay sound natural but still like me?

Fix the errors first, then change only the sentences that sound stiff. Keep your examples and your simpler word choices; an essay full of words you don't normally use reads less like you, not more.

Will it make my essay sound like AI?

Not with Fix spelling & grammar, which doesn't rewrite. Humanize changes more: it rewrites the sentences with stock phrases and flat rhythm, the things that make text sound generated.

Can it translate my essay into English?

Yes. Translate works into any of the eight output languages, including English, and aims to read as if it was written in that language. Check that the translation still says what you meant.

Will an AI detector flag my essay because English is my second language?

It can happen, because plain, carefully correct writing is the kind detectors tend to misread. HidenGPT makes no promises about any detector; keep your drafts and notes so you can show how you wrote it.

Does it explain the corrections?

No, it returns the corrected text. Compare it with your original side by side to see what changed and spot the mistakes you repeat.

How long can my essay be?

Up to 20,000 characters per rewrite, roughly 3,000 words of English. Split longer essays into sections.
