I want to use AI to help with my wedding speech, but I don't want it to sound like a robot wrote it.

Bring your role, the couple's names, two true stories and how long you will speak. HidenGPT's Speech format turns those into a speech timed to the minute, about 520 words for 4 minutes, then cuts stock AI phrases and can follow your voice from writing samples. Any AI tool is as good as the stories you give it.

How to do it in HidenGPT

  1. 01

Before you open any tool, write down your role, both names, how long you have and two stories with one concrete detail each.

  2. 02

With Speech picked under “Use it for”, set Occasion to Wedding speech or Best man / maid of honor, set Minutes to your slot and write your role in Your role.

  3. 03

Type the stories into the main box the way you would tell them at a bar, then send; on a plan, pick a voice built from your own messages or emails.

  4. 04

Delete anything that did not happen, fill each [add a short memory] with something true and say each line out loud to hear whether it is yours.

  5. 05

Read it with a timer, then once to someone who knows the couple; whatever tool wrote the draft, this step is the one guests notice.

Speech & Toast: Weddings, graduations, keynotes: timed to the minute and written to be read aloud.

The options, honestly

ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini are general assistants. You paste in your stories and ask for a speech; all three have no-cost tiers and will give you a draft in seconds. You choose the length, the order and the tone yourself, in the prompt. Claude's help center describes account-wide instructions, projects and skills, and says skills can apply communication patterns based on your own writing. Gemini's own overview page says Gems are being replaced by skills, with support for Gems on personal accounts ending from November. Good for: people who already use one of them and will edit hard.

Wedding speech sites ask questions and write the draft for you. ToastWiz has you fill in a questionnaire and emails four drafts within minutes; its page lists $39.90 for four drafts of typically 350 to 600 words, and it recommends editing before you speak. The Better Best Man runs an interview it calls the Ghost Agent, asks follow-up questions, lets you pick short (2 to 3 minutes), medium (4 to 5) or long (6 to 7), and offers the first draft at no cost. DoppelWriter asks for writing samples, or a recording of you talking, to match your voice. Speechwriter.ai asks a few questions and sends the draft by email or as a Google Doc. Good for: one speech, guided step by step.

HidenGPT is a general AI ghostwriter with a Speech format among 17 formats. The format has a setting per occasion (wedding, best man or maid of honor, engagement, toast and more), a Minutes field from 1 to 15 that sets the word target, a red pen pass that cuts stock AI phrases, and saved voices built from 2 to 5 samples of your own writing on Pro or Pro Max. Good for: people who want the length and structure handled and the wording close to their own, and who may write other things later. Not built as a guided interview; you bring the stories.

Why AI wedding speeches sound like AI, and the fix

Guests do not recognize AI. They recognize a speech that could be about anyone. Most AI drafts fail in the same three places.

They invent. Ask for a funny story without giving one, and you get a camping trip that never happened. Never let a tool write a memory; give it yours, and remove anything you did not supply.

They reach for stock lines. “Two hearts becoming one,” “a love that knows no bounds,” “a testament to their journey.” Delete them on sight. The question for every sentence: could it be said at any wedding? If yes, replace it with something only true at this one.

They run long and flat. A chatbot does not know you have four minutes, and written sentences are hard to say out loud. Give the tool a word count (about 130 words a minute is a normal speaking pace) and read the draft aloud before you trust it.

Before: “From the moment Luke met Anna, it was clear their love was something special.” After: “Luke drove Anna to the hospital every day for two weeks in 2022 and slept in the parking lot. That was when I stopped calling him ‘the new guy’.”

A prompt you can paste into any AI

Example prompt (works in ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or HidenGPT's Anything format):

“Write a wedding speech I will say out loud. I am [your role, e.g. the bride's older brother]. The couple is [name] and [name]. I have [minutes] minutes, so about [minutes × 130] words. Use only these stories and do not invent any others: [story 1 with one concrete detail]; [story 2]. Structure: one sentence on who I am, the stories, a turn to the couple, then a toast to both by name. Short sentences that are easy to say. No exes, money, fights or crude jokes. Avoid stock phrases like “two hearts” and “testament”. Where you need a detail I did not give, write [ADD] instead of making one up.”

Then edit. Paste three or four messages you have written to friends at the top if the tool supports samples, and ask it to match their sentence length and words. In HidenGPT the Speech format already carries most of these rules, so the box only needs your role and stories.

What HidenGPT's Speech format does

Pick an occasion and the draft follows its rules: for a wedding, who you are and your connection in the first lines, one or two concrete stories, no exes, money, fights or crude jokes, and a raised glass at the end; for best man or maid of honor, kind teasing and a turn to the couple. Minutes sets the target, about 130 words a minute in English, and you see a warning when the draft is more than 30% off. Stage cues such as [pause] are optional and do not count toward the length.

It is told not to invent anecdotes, names or events, and writes [add a short memory] where it needs one. After the draft, a light red pen pass cuts stock phrases and you get a note of what changed. Voices are saved from your own writing, at least 300 characters, and two to five samples work best. It drafts; the speech is still yours to check, rehearse and give.

Not the right tool if

  • Making up stories. No tool here should invent memories, and HidenGPT leaves a placeholder instead; if you have no stories, ask the couple's friends first.
  • A guided interview. If you would rather answer questions one at a time than write notes, a site built around an interview may suit you better.
  • Rehearsal. Any AI writes words; saying them with a timer in front of someone is still your job.

Questions

Can AI write a good wedding speech?

It can write a good draft if you give it real stories, your role and the length. It cannot know your memories, so the parts guests remember have to come from you.

Is ChatGPT good for writing a wedding speech?

It is fast and costs nothing on its basic tier, and it works well with a careful prompt. Expect to remove invented details and stock lines, and to cut it to length yourself.

What is the best prompt for a ChatGPT wedding speech?

One that gives your role, both names, the minutes, two true stories, a structure and a ban on invented details. Use the prompt on this page and fill in the brackets.

Will people know I used AI for my wedding speech?

Not if the stories are yours and you edit the wording until it sounds like you. Guests notice generic lines, not tools; specific details and your own phrasing are what make it yours.

Is it wrong to use AI for a wedding speech?

Most people see it like asking a friend to help. It drafts from details you give; you change what is not true, rewrite what does not sound like you and stand up and say it as your own.

How is HidenGPT different from a wedding speech site?

It is a general writing tool with a Speech format, not a one-off speech service: you set the occasion and minutes, write your stories as notes, and the same account writes emails, cards or a toast later. It does not interview you.

Can I use HidenGPT without paying?

For a trial, yes: the homepage gives you 2 drafts a day without an account. There is no unpaid plan; writing in the studio, with saved drafts and your own voices, needs a subscription, and Pro is $3 for the first month.
